To Do Or Dye Salon isn't just your local salon around the block, it is your refuge from your daily hustle and bustle. Right when you walk in the door, you feel as if you are the most important person in the world. The goal of the staff is to create a peaceful oasis where anyone can relax and enjoy themselves. 

To Do or Dye was started back in 2002 by Patti Schmidt in Countryside, but was moved to Brookfield in 2008 to be more involved with a community. Here in Brookfield, Patti has felt very welcomed and valued as a business owner and woman. To Do Or Dye’s goal is to be as organic and as “green” as possible to keep our community clean and  healthy for the future.

Just a few ways that Patti has tried to keep the salon green is by being an Aveda Concept Salon, taking home recyclables, and recently starting a “Recycle the Cap” program. She is even recycling all of the salon's hair clippings, and sending them Matter of Trust to be made into hair mats for the Golf Oil Spill. Aveda strives to use only organic ingredients and if for some reason an ingredient is depleting they stop using it by either discontinuing the product or trying to find an equally organic ingredient. The “Recycle the Cap” program was created because it was brought to the attention of the staff by Aveda that hard plastic caps cannot be recycled by the plants in our community. So from now on all caps to any and all bottles are saved and given to Aveda to be sent to New York so they can be recycled properly.

Patti and her staff are always trying to stay as current as possible keeping our community beautiful and safe. Patti Schmidt has become more and more involved with Brookfield by joining the Chamber of Commerce, the GPC (Grand Prairie Crossing) and Riverside’s Junior Women’s Charity. By being more active, she has found out how important it is to support our neighbors and businesses because without each other we could not succeed. She has two daughters that are the light of her life, and with them in mind, she has had the drive and ambition to start this successful business.

She is not just the owner of To Do Or Dye, she is behind the chair five days a week working with her clients and staff. Not only does she work on people's outer beauty, she has become a Wellness Educator for Juice Plus to make people healthier on the inside too. By taking Juice Plus, your body gets all of the vegetables and fruits that it needs on a daily basis. Patti is always trying to make everyone around her feel as good as she does.

Staying in Brookfield is a main priority for To Do Or Dye Salon and Patti. She wants to  be a cornerstone in the community and hopes to make a lasting contribution in people's lives by maintaining a friendly and supporting relationship with the town and the  neighbors.
